Art in Unexpected Places
I've always been fascinated by statues and sculpting. How one object can tell a complete story or message. I've been trying to find ways to bring more creative outlets into our home for my family. Different ways to express ourselves. Well I found a great tool in Curry's Art Store, and boy have the big and little kids been having fun with these. Now, maybe it's the location of them that has brought on so much continuous changing attention...The bathroom...that lonely place behind the toilet...the perfect spot for creativity?..so it seems..these three little figures have been moved into all sorts of predicaments that have us splitting our sides laughing...all family rated...A great conversation piece, cultural exposure for family and friends into the world of the arts for only $8.95 a piece. As they say art can be found in the most unexpected places.

Re-Use, Re-Design, P.S. I made it
So I am continuing my de-cluttering mission in the house like so many of you. Trying to redefine spaces, freshen up and of course trying to reach that seemingly unreachable goal of organizing. At the same time I'm getting my creative groove on...starting to paint and design a few little things. I'll keep you posted. I did however find this very fun site that echos what I know alot of us think or say when we see something in a magazine or store with a price tag that makes us blush. So here it is, the motto is...I see it, I like it, I make it!!, http://psimadethis.com/, NICE...I look forward to see what inspires you.

Re-Create
Sometimes it's hard to look at the obvious or old and see new possibilities. The first and only home that we ever bought was a run down mint green eye sore, that shouted potential. Through the last 10 years we have rebuilt it with our own sweat and some blood into something that is a one of a kind beautiful home. It can be as simple as a new coat of paint or as unique as concrete for counter tops. I'm always trying to re-invent things and give them new life. I found this web site http://www.ikeahackers.net/ that will help get our creative juices flowing for the new year. Who doesn't love a trip to IKEA?!!!
This is what our house started off looking like from the front. |
Tada! |
And our backyard, started off looking like this. |
Now it looks like this... 10 years later... |
